MONDO has been organized to get the Chicago Park District to designate
Montrose Beach as a dog-friendly area where people can exercise their dogs
off-leash at off-hours during the summer season (Memorial Day to Labor Day)
and during the rest of the year at hours to be determined. MONDO members
take responsibility for keeping the beach clean of dog waste, and will encourage
dog owners at Montrose Beach to abide by posted Park
District regulations.
Frequently asked questions:
- Is it illegal to let a dog run off-leash
on the beach or elsewhere?
- Where can I exercise my dog off-leash in
the city of Chicago?
- What are the Park District rules
for dog-friendly areas?
- How are dog-friendly Park District areas established?
- Where is Montrose Beach?
- What can I do to help turn Montrose Beach into
an official dog-friendly area?
